Randy B is a soulful urban jazz guitarist whose life and music are defined by resilience, passion, and an unbreakable connection to his craft. Born in Houston and musically shaped in Detroit—where fellow musicians nicknamed him “George Benson”—Randy developed a style rooted in classic jazz guitar while reaching toward a modern, expressive sound all his own.

His journey includes sharing stages and moments with legends such as George Benson, Johnny “Guitar” Watson, and Norman Brown, experiences that helped refine his blend of smooth jazz, R&B, and soul. As the longtime leader of The Collaboration Band, Randy spent decades performing while simultaneously building a career as a professional electrician, always keeping music at the center of his life.

In 2006, tragedy struck when a car accident claimed the life of his wife, Joanne, and left Randy with a broken neck. Through profound loss, he found strength in his children and in the healing power of music. That perseverance now lives in every note he plays.

Randy’s debut single, “Joy and More Joy,” produced by two‑time Grammy winner Paul Brown, marks a powerful new chapter. Recorded at Funky Joint Studio in Los Angeles, the track showcases Randy’s expressive guitar voice and serves as a heartfelt tribute to Joanne, symbolized by the Stratocaster that bears her image.
